Lonestar cross country

The best way to find your next superstar is through word of mouth, and a chance conversation between Paul Simms and one of Hartpury’s stewards, Ros Hayward, led to Rush finding his way to join our team.

Big, bold and brave cross country, once you get to know him you find a sensitive soul, anxious to fit in with the other boys in the yard.

He arrived a couple of months before the end of the season, fit and ready to go, so that’s exactly what we did. Within a week we were flying around the novice at Monmouth and over the next month we took on a couple of Intermediate courses.

He’d been in the same home for 5 years and was used to being ridden by a man. It will take a while for us to build up our relationship sufficiently to get the dressage results I know he’s capable of, but I’m looking forward to the challenge.
